Preparing to release his new 7-track EP, “xx” on November 8th, Australian teenage sensation Vic August is now set to drop the projects third and final single, “Bring Em Out”.  Following hot on the heels of, “Approach”, and, “Sacrifice”, Vic August kicks the energy up a notch on his latest tune, delivering his slick auto-tuned flows and earworm melodies on top of a slapping Trap leaning beat.  Attitude laced lyrics and ever-changing vocal rhythms help to bring a dynamic feel to the hard-hitting track helping to show off the young artists undeniable versatility.  Having already found some major support from Spotify, with the projects prior singles landing in official playlists like, “New Music Friday AU & NZ”, “The Drip”, “Mellow Styles”, “Shisha Lounge”, and, “All Aussie Hip-Hop”, Vic August has made sure to save some of the best for last.

My Thoughts on the Song

Now let’s get into what I thought about the song. The song is well made and I can tell he is trying to showcase different types of flows. I can definitely hear some Travis Scott vibes with some of the delivery. Overall though Vic August has his own flow and style of rap that he attaches to every song he tackles. This one is no different. You can definitely bob your head to the songs and jam out. Take a listen at the link above and stay tuned to the full project “XX” which dropped this weekend.

Vic August- Approach

Dropping this week Tommy Boy Australian Hip Hop artist Vic August drops “Approach” from his forthcoming EP titled “xx”.

The Melly Starz team was able to snag an exclusive listen to this smooth melodic song prior to the official drop. Vic August is joined on the track by Socialblight and UNKWN. The track is so melodic that it can blur the lines between Hip Hop and R&B which is right on trend with the times. The track is on the longer side at over 5 minutes but some of the best songs break the mold, which is the case here. The song is about a girl and his relationship with her. They have a back and forth relationship, she seems to have put a spell on him to keep him stressing her. By the end of the song, it seems our protagonist has given up on his love and would prefer if she keeps off social media with this drama and just back off already. The solo guitar riff at the end sent chills up my spine and was a perfect way to end the song.

Overall, I love the song! the delivery is spot on, lyrics are on point and the beat is unmatched. The collaborations and lyrical references are infused perfectly into the track. With this being Vic August’s first single, I can only imagine what is to come on his forthcoming EP in November. This is a great introductory song for new fans looking for the ever-elusive Hip Hop and R&B fusion. You can stream the song by clicking this link.

Who is Vic August?

Vic August
With a #1 Hip Hop project (“Truths”) already under his belt, Australian teenage sensation Vic August is now poised to make his Tommy Boy debut with, “Approach”, featuring Socialblight and UKNWN. The first single off of his forthcoming EP, “xx”, due out 11/8/19 (Pre-order available 9/13/19) sees Vic August bringing smooth melodic flows over a slick guitar-driven, Trap-infused beat, blurring the lines between Hip Hop & R&B in a way that only he can. With his signature sauce and undeniable swag, it makes perfect sense that he has already picked up co-signs from Ebro on Beats 1 and Spotify – landing on the cover of their ‘Mellow Styles’ playlist in Australia. With “Approach” being the first taste of what is to come from his new 7-track project, the lead single is more than enough to get old and new fans excited about what’s on the way.
