Thoughts on Audiocity II

- Even if it rains: The song starts with some smooth vocals. Then, we get to hear the journey and thought-provoking lyrics in the verses. The premise is who will stick around when it rains? Are you going to ride for me?
- Dead body: The transition into the first verse was a bit rough for my liking but once it evened out you can get into the lyrics. While the verses are on point, the audio levels made it challenging for me to listen to.
- Rambo: I was rocking to this song almost instantly. This is smooth and really gets you to connect with Rayne. He isn’t someone you want to mess with because he’s out here with his chopper.
- Addiction: He’s talking about girls on the first verse. I like the juxtaposition of his rap with the smooth voice on the hook. It seems someone is addicted.
- Pockets Hurtin: This song is gritty. It’s in your face and each verse brings something different to the track. I think we can all relate to people pocket watching because their pockets hurtin.
- Jump: Cam’ron is one of my favs so it was dope hearing her go so hard off the jump. I like the delivery for “you put your man on that shit”. I like all the callbacks throughout the track.
- Beat it: This is probably my least favorite track. It left me wanting more, but not in a good way.
- KKK: Rayne brings the fire on this track. He’s in the rap game but trying to make his own way.
- Rap Rap: Ok, he’s calling out all trash-ass rappers on this track. He’s telling all rappers to get out his way. “Do you niggas rap or do you rap rap?”
- Is it real?: On this track we are asked what is actually real? Some people take fake it till you make it to an extreme. So, is it real?
- Let it fly: The flow on this track matches well with the beat. I also like the slight switch-up toward the end.
- Audacity: We finally have a song with only Rayne on it. He sounds a bit distorted. I wish we could have gotten more from him without the distortion.
- No fear: The delivery here is peak New York. This is a standout track on this album.
- Hard: The third verse could use some work, but overall, everyone worked together to make this track hard.
- Outside: Jadakiss gets the track started and draws you in. He doesn’t care who your team is. The chorus is catchy.
- Greenberry: I have to go to NY and get some chopped cheese because it seems to come up quite a bit on this album.
My biggest gripe with this album is the number of features. There is only one song without a feature and it’s the shortest on the album. I understand wanting big names but having too many can take away from the artists shining through. I feel that is what happened for me here. I wanted more of Rayne Storm solo and showing us his talent.
