Today we’re doing something a little different. While I strive to breakdown every song when working on an EP review, that’s challenging for this project. The challenge is a language barrier. However, the production value and delivery caught my attention and we’re heading over to Seoul, South Korea for today’s music.

Let’s meet GK with his first EP “G.round: Pre-Debut EP Album.” GK is a former A&R for P-Nation and current head of JJ Music Group. However, he is also an artist who raps and produces. He produced the entire album with help from SINGKI. There are also various features including NSW Yoon, Cho Seo Jun, loboneabeat!, viceversa, Daniel Jikal, D.Ark, KIDO, EK, Dbo, San E, and many more.

All About G.round

  1. Fun Fact: He comes in guns blazing. he is clear and on beat. He switches his flow as the beat goes.
  2. Kill the System: He starts by talking about how the system is fucked up, which is valid. This is a breakout single material here. There is also an accompanying video. He’s ready to kill because he’s ready to die.
  3. OMZ Freestyle: The piano on this track makes it go harder for me. The feature by NSW Yoon was a perfect fit for this freestyle.
  4. Done: this track slows down since it’s a heartbreak song. The lyrics are translated on the music video. This gives us an idea of the relationship and how it went from something beautiful to an end.
  5. Crime Scene: This is a very differnt track with the production compared to the other ones on the EP.
  6. IRTT Cypher: It’s a cypher style track and everyone is bringing the heat. It’s an interesting compilation track. Everyone shows us exactly why they run this town.

GK does add some English phrases throughout his album. He can draw you in even without speaking the same language. The production value is top-notch. I am a fan and will be following this emerging artist.

While I can’t understand every lyric I can appreciate the overall production value and skills. He sounds to be on point with his music. The visuals also help further drive the premise of his songs further. If you want to follow GK’s journey use the following:
