On this episode of Melly’s Couch we sit down with one of the busiest men in Hollywood: White Noize. He might give off a west coast vibe but he’s from right out here in the Chicagoland suburbs. we discuss his musical influences and a comparison to one of the greats. You’ll never guess who White Noize has been compared to. They also discuss some of the challenges of entering the rap game later in life and being a white rapper. They discuss his musical journey especially his two albums ‘Underestimated’ and ‘Hunger and Dedication’, along with his latest singles ‘Stank on it’ and ‘Top Down’.

He started off by doing every open mic in the area which helped build his confidence and put him on the path to being an MC. We also get in depth about Dark Daniel and what this alter ego is all about. Some songs are White Noize and others are Dark Daniel. Can you guess who is who when listening to his music?

Fans are super important and White Noize is very active with fan updates and interactions. His biggest fans are his family, friends and coworkers. He also discusses investing in himself and how not all ROIs are financial. Is White Noize a Marvel or DC fan, let’s discuss?

White Noize talks about all of the wonderful people he has worked with including Jamari Mikell, Wilhelm Duke and DJ Nikoli. His song ‘Speak on it’ was controversial and we get to hear the backstory and he shouts out some dope artists on the scene.

There are many other shocks and fun facts they discuss when breaking down song lyrics. Some topics are so deep they are left for off camera conversations. They go in depth about the ‘mini tours’ to promote both his albums. Some of his other major performances are also brought up including at Sub T; a mecca for Chicago hip hop. After so many performances, White Noize has made an impact and caught the attention of ‘The Local Artist Show’, which I was able to be backstage for.

While he has had many ups there are also challenges that come with being a white rapper such as navigating the space and dealing with haters. The biggest hate he received was when he dropped ‘Stank on it’. The best way to deal with haters is to succeed and that is exactly what White Noize is doing with his latest show opening up for Flesh and Bone.

White Noize has his own merch, so make sure you pick that up. He has reached so many milestones in such a short time including reaching 1,000 followers organically. While he has many fans there are also many haters including the ‘profanity police’ which we address in this interview. People at shows have also been hating when he hits the stage and wins competitions but he has made his name in this industry and deserves his accolades.

We discuss so much throughout this interview that you definitely get to see a different side of White Noize. If you weren’t a fan before you’ll definitely become a fan after this interview. Stay till the end for an entire segment about ‘Stank on It’, which is a viral sensation and brought many haters.
