Chill Bill on Melly’s Couch

This may be a familiar face and that’s because we previously sat down with Chill Bill at Midnite Club. This time our sit down went completely different because we dive deep into his musical background as a producer, rapper and video engineer. Melly Starz starts from the beginning which shocks Chill after the first question. They took it back all the way to fifth grade which was the beginning on his musical journey.

She keeps bringing the shock factor when she brings up when Chill started music production back in high school. When in high school he learned a lot from his good friend Billionaire Boy Scout. They were friends and he was instrumental in Chill’s beat production. Will we get him on the Couch next?

He started his beat production on Fruity Loops 7, the free trial. He has made a lot of progress since then and is a pro. He still makes a lot of his beats but still outsources so he can keep his catalog fresh. He also discusses when he started and how it wasn’t about the numbers but only the love. Focusing on the numbers takes the love out of the craft.

His rap career began to blossom in 2017 when he started freestyling. He has only written one song in his entire career and it was….trash. Ironically, he wrote a diss song. He’s been in several rap beefs but we won’t get into who it was with. You can figure out who it is if you get into the catalog. They discuss how the fake people have fallen off.

Chill Bill is focused on his path and his art. His goal is to NOT oversaturate the market. He even describes himself as a seasonal rapper. He is expanding his catalog by trying to work with EDM, singers and others. If you fit his criteria hit him up. Little known fact but he has his own label named ‘Quiet Hour Music’. The name came randomly but he’s been dropping music under the name.

They delve deep into his catalog and bring up old tracks that should be added to the hit list. Melly Starz brings out a prop from a one off line in a song. His process is a little different but that’s an off camera conversation. Throughout his career he’s lost over 700 beats. After ‘Route 41’ he had to take a break because as you know life be lifing.

He took a nearly four year break when facing some personal struggles. When he finally got back on track he started making music again. However, he learned his lesson and has grown. His main priority is his kids and he’s done with the streets.

You can find his song ‘On Chill’ on the #Starzontherise playlist and learn more about it during the interview. This song also brings us to the race car scene. As a car guy he faces a lot of challenges but he also loves it. He drops the best comparison basically saying that a sign of making it is getting a Melly’s Couch interview, similar to Oprah back in the day.

They also get into his newest project ‘Nürburgring Nights EP’ which drops a day or two after this interview. It has a little something for everyone. Melly Starz did not get the exclusive as it wasn’t complete at the time of filming but she did hear it before the general public. ‘Format’ featuring Yung Tact is on the project and you can catch his episode dropping as our season finale.

They also briefly speak about Chill’s dj skills and showing his beats at Open Swim. He talks about picking his beats and the overall experience. He has played at the event twice thus far. Stay tuned because he will be doing a lot more shows now. Just don’t participate in artist prostitution.

His visuals are top notch especially since he has experience and a long resume of doing music videos for notable artists. His partner in video is Joe and if you don’t know Joe you don’t know anything. He is NOT a professional race car driver. However, he is big on the car scene, legally of course. Being on the car scene can get a little dramatic especially when your car gets stolen on a wild weekend downtown. Melly Starz solves all his car troubles by getting him a car.

Following up on their previous interview Melly Starz asks how he’s done with his comedy and hosting career. They end the interview by talking about Chill’s most important title which is being a dad. He discusses how he juggles all his responsibilities and titles. His children are already showing signs of creativity and who knows what will happen. If they want to get in the stu, Chill is ready but he supports any of their future endeavors. As always you can find him at the following links:
