“Punk Never Dies” by Cloud grabbed me by the throat from the first chord and refused to let go. Cloud has managed to capture something that feels genuinely rebellious without falling into the trap of nostalgia worship. This isn’t someone trying to recreate 1977, it’s punk filtered through a modern perspective that actually has something to say.
The collaboration with Alexandre Di Pasquale from Avignon creates a perfect storm. Moreover, his drumming doesn’t just keep time, it becomes the driving force that makes everything else possible. You can feel the precision behind every hit. But, it never loses that raw power that makes punk work.
Cloud’s vocals carry real conviction when he chants “Nobody told me future” and “No future / Oh yeah / Ohhhhh I don’t care.” These aren’t just empty slogans thrown around for effect. There’s genuine disillusionment here. It is the kind that comes from actually living through uncertainty rather than just reading about it. The repetition builds into something almost hypnotic.
Luis adds another layer with guitar work that knows when to cut and when to create texture. The feedback drenched hooks hit at exactly the right moments, never overwhelming but always present when the song needs that extra push. The interplay between all these elements creates something that feels both chaotic and completely controlled.
The track proves the genre is alive and evolving. Sometimes you need a song that reminds you it’s okay to refuse to conform.
