Norfolk folk musician Ervin Munir is back with “I Don’t Care,” a new single that came out on September 19th and gives us a taste of his third album on the way.

The song is about not giving in to pressure to conform and choosing your own direction in life. The message comes through clearly, and it’s one that feels relevant right now.

The song itself is catchy in the best way. Also, Ervin’s voice works very well with the acoustic guitar, piano, and drums, creating something that feels full and also easygoing too. When the chorus comes in with those harmonies, there’s a warmth to it that makes the whole independence theme hit home.

There’s a guitar solo in the middle stands out. It shows how much thought went into arranging this track. Producer Aeron Z Jones managed to keep things clean and professional without losing that intimate folk feel Ervin does so well.

“I Don’t Care” is for anyone who’s felt the weight of other people’s expectations. It sticks with you after it’s over, both in terms of the melody and what it’s actually saying. If this is what we can expect from the third album, Ervin is onto something good. He’s carved out his own space in the folk world, and this track proves he knows exactly what he’s doing there.
