Prophetic Psychosis

“パラダイス” by Prophetic Psychosis showed up in my feed at exactly the right moment. Maybe it was perfect timing, maybe the algorithm just knows me too well. Either way, I’m glad I clicked.

This isn’t one of those music videos where everything gets spelled out for you. You have to bring something to it yourself, your own experiences, your own way of seeing things. That’s what makes it work.

The lyrics caught me off guard with how much they’re actually wrestling with. Popaska and Vernichten are asking real questions here. What does finding peace even look like when the world feels this chaotic? How do you sit with solitude without drowning in it? Where’s the meaning when nothing feels certain? They don’t try to hand you answers, which I appreciate. They just make room for you to think.

The visuals do their own thing but they work with the lyrics instead of against them. Those mountains aren’t just pretty scenery. They feel like they matter to the whole thing. They’ve been through storms, they’ve had clear skies, and they’re still there. Something about that steadiness feels important even while everything around them keeps shifting.
