Cloud just released “In My Dream,” a new rock single that’s out now on all streaming platforms. The Japanese guitarist and songwriter teamed up with Luis Gerardo Moreno on guitar and Alex DP on drums for this one.
Cloud’s been making waves lately, and “In My Dream” shows exactly why. This is a powerful rock track where the guitar keeps building, getting louder at just the right moments across three distinct sections. You can feel it climbing as it goes.
What got me about the lyrics is how they shift between dreams and reality, between “in my dream” and “in my head.” Cloud digs into that space between how someone lives in your thoughts versus who they actually are in real life. That tension is something most of us know, and the song captures how it feels without overexplaining it.
There’s a duality here that I appreciate. Dreams can lift us up, push us toward something better. But they can also mess with us, knock us down when reality doesn’t line up. Cloud seems to understand both sides of that, the wonderful and the cruel parts we all learn about as we go through life. You can hear the influence of Nirvana in how the song plays with stillness and movement, that contrast they were so good at.
Moreno’s guitar work and Alex DP’s drums lock in perfectly with Cloud’s vision. The three of them create something that hits you right from the start and doesn’t let up.
If you’ve been following Cloud’s releases, this one’s worth checking out. It’s out now and shows a band that knows how to build a song and make it count.
