Educatable, ‘Thank You’

Educatable

Educatable is back with new song “Thank you” and from the first listen, it is evident that there’s something about this track that feels like it’s carrying more than just a catchy melody.

Ricky Barson started this project back in 2002 as a drummer in a school band. Over the years, it went through different names and lineups before landing on Educatable, a duo with lead singer Dom Slone. They built something real together, playing hundreds of shows and getting BBC radio play. Then Slone passed away, and Barson had to make a choice. He became the lead singer and guitarist himself, keeping the project alive while letting it evolve into something new.

“Thank You” is the result of that transformation. It’s indie pop rock with this infectious energy that pulls from Coldplay’s big moments and Vampire Weekend’s bounce, with African and World music touches layered in. The production is clean, the melodies stick, and it’s built for summer playlists and live venues where people actually want to move.

From what I’ve seen, the live shows have been drawing crowds and selling out venues across the country. People seem to connect with what’s happening on stage, which says something about the material.
