In tandem with pursuing higher education through a Masters degree, Melly Starz began the journey into Music in Mellsville. The premise was always about music, but the structure has adapted to the ever-changing industry. In her post-graduate studies, she delved into the business side of the entertainment industry, which is a necessary tool when creating a media conglomerate.

After freelancing for sometime, Melly joined a Broward based digital marketing company as a content manager and editor. She managed a team of legal writers. After some company restructuring she stayed on as a legal writer for a period. She continues to do copywriting for companies nationwide. Getting Back to Creativity…
Melly Starz has an extensive resume but her creativity has always been calling. In recent years, you may have seen her bringing back interviews on The HeatMix Life, a mix show she co-founded with DJ LX. She no longer works on the show but does support by providing a space for them on the website.
She was also one of the first sponsors for The Journey Project Podcast, a podcast hosted by Josiah The Prince. He interviews people in the industry and discusses their journey. She is no longer a sponsor but you can find past interviews on the website. However, everything changed for Melly Starz in 2023…
She was close to hanging up her hat and leaving the music and media industry completely. Then the Chicago hip hop music scene changed her path entirely. This is the year where she began to do event reviews, music reviews, and album reviews again. Thanks to these artists (HisNameWasXav, Myah Storm, Smokey Smothers and Erb Dean) Melly Starz is back and better than ever.
Moving back to Chicago
Originally, Melly Starz was considering a move to Chicago mid year. She had also considered becoming a snowbird. However, 2024 was a nonstop roller coaster of opportunities and she made the decision to move permanently in February. She booked a one way, packed two suitcases and she was on her way home. You can find her monthly moving vlogs where she recaps everything she has accomplished and her downfalls. This covers the first year in Chicago.
Another new endeavor upon moving back home is getting into artist management with not one but three artists out the gate. They have had major performances dropping countless music and videos. A major highlight was getting one of her artist on television. This has led to her establishing a management company aptly named Mogul Money Management (under construction).
While still in Miami, Melly began working with the BITTER JESTER FOUNDATION FOR THE ARTS, NFP. She reviews their vinyls annually, which are live recordings of the grand finales. One of her quotes made it onto the back of the second vinyl. In 2024, she was given the esteemed honor and privilege to judge four preliminary nights. This has not been done since the inception of the music festival. Additionally, she covered the grand finale as a concert connoisseur. She will be writing a recap of the entire 2024 Bitter Jester Music Festival experience as a judge and audience member. For 2025, she came back to judge one night of the festival.
