Feed’Em – Gospel Grind (Prod. by Vonte Grace)

Heading across the pond to London, we have artist and creative director Feed’Em. He describes the music he makes as “soul food” and draws inspiration and influence from his faith. His music is a reflection of is journey and the lessons he’s learned everyday. He started his musical journey at 14 and has an upcoming mixtape titled, “Gospel of Grime.” The track he brings us today is off his coming mixtape and is titled ‘Gospel Grind.”

The track was produced by Vonte Grace and the duo aim to make a powerful statement on having faith through bars that have meaning. His statement about the song is:

“As a husband and father I understand the pressure we face as a man to provide, protect, and lead our families. The world teaches us a perverted version of this which results in being dead or in jail. Gospel Grind is a statement for men that are on a righteous grind and pursuit of true Biblical manhood.”

“God comes first, I’m second to none”.

It seems the video takes us to a gender reveal and we get to see the that they are having a baby. The entire family is together and he speaks about how he is head of the household and how he has to make it work for his family. The video keeps us focused on the baby, family and everyone gathered to celebrate. The videos is well made and fits the topic and the flow.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with Gospel Grind, especially because I’m not a religious person. But it wasn’t overtly in your face, which allows the track to reach a wider audience. He switches his flow up in the last verse. I also love how everyone chants “Gospel Grind” towards the end. The Judge Judy reference was funny as well.

Feed’Em is someone to look out for in the future. He has his musical foundation established and will continue to grow. I am looking forward to continued coverage regardless of my personal feelings about religion.
