Moving to Chicago: Month Six

Time really flies and can you believe it’s already been six months. While everything has been going better than I could ever dream, this month things took a slight detour when my health decided it was time for a break. However, a quick hospitalization and a week in bed couldn’t keep me from releasing interviews and working on stuff for Mellsville. I’m still playing catch up but you can hear the full story in my monthly recap.

While I was dealing with medical issues all month I didn’t let that get in my way and accomplished all of the things per usual. The only thing was me being late on this lovely recap but you’ll understand why by the end of the recap. We start right off by filming more episodes. The second interview kind of set the standard for all future interviews and now I’ve added more to my plate than ever before. I also scheduled two interviews the same day! I also had a stranger in my car because I will do anything for the Couch. We almost did two double bubbles in one day but family first.

The Couch has also given me the opportunity to become besties or closer to others in the hip hop community. It wasn’t something I had initially planned for. Having a new rapper bestie also means getting yelled at for not showing off things in these monthly vlogs. Get an in depth look at my new camera. After the back to back interviews my day didn’t end because I had to run to the radio station to perform a song I collaborated with Laik and Kid Juli.

I got new merch from Walt from the Future and White Noize this month. I just happen to be in the right place at the right time to buy cool stuff. I also got a Cricut so you know my merch is coming soon. The beginning of the month also resulted in me visiting ‘The Local Artist Show’ where I hung out with White Noize and met Taco. Two incredible artists in the Chicagoland area.

I also had to spend a whole day at the apple store getting my graphic designer’s laptop fixed. 0 stars for spending hours in the apple store. Would definitely not recommend. Another thing I would not recommend is driving downtown and getting lost. What I do recommend is getting custom earplugs to save your hearing and ordering business cards.

I was also out there behind the scenes of Myah Storm and Top Dolla AP’s newest music video. Which somehow led to me starting a new vlog. I got to Facetime my little buddy who should be in the Month seven vlog if all goes well. When he gets here I will also be stepping back to focus on his adjustment period. I was so stressed planning for his trip I had to do some legos.

This month we also started working on my BookTok content which resulted in a full circle moment. I basically went to Hogwarts. I also caught up on work and stuff. Then I went to DripFest which is out of the hip hop realm completely. Melly’s Couch was also taking off and we got White Noize to come through and it was a hit.

Melly’s Couch continues with Fly Goddy which happened right before I went to the hospital. I also did my research for Roy French and Yung Tact. Although, Tact was my season finale guest he came to the couch and we filmed his episode already!! It was a busy weekend and I was busy prepping for the Couch but I ended up going to a private event that night.

We also discuss who shall be coming to the Couch next. The private event was the Tomorrow Livestream. It was so much fun. I really got to let loose even with everything going on. But that might have been a mistake because I was exhausted when I sat down for Yung Tact the next day. I rested for the remainder of the day. The next day was when all hell broke loose with my health. After seeing Fly at The Forge I ended up going to the hospital and taking almost a week off.

Obviously I was fighting tooth and nail against resting or taking time off but we’re on the up and up. Doctors visits galore but we’ve made progress. I snuck a day trip to the library and been getting some sleep. But the show goes on and we’re here now. Let’s see what chaos ensues in Month Seven.
