This week we sit down with Fly Goddy right from out here in burbs. He has a unique name as it is an acronym for a positive message. His message and goal is to give back to the community he came from by leading the youth. One of the ways he gives back is by being a couch. He is a credible messenger to the youth and everyone he comes into contact with. He gives us the formula which is a pretty basic one.

Legal troubles happen and can impact our careers but Fly managed to come back and hit the ground running. His first birthday was a celebration with accompanying video. He also started using Fly Goddy instead of Fly Boy when he got out of jail. Melly Starz brings out a special drink before they delve into Fly’s career and family ties to the music industry.

Fly started off as Fly Boy over a decade ago before he went to jail and came out as Fly Goddy. He was big on acryonyms and Melly asks about every single one. His dad, Sunny Mac, introduced him to the music industry at around 6 or 7 years old. The rebrand has been full of ups and downs which the duo discuss during the entirety of the interview.

In 2015, Fly hosted an event and brought the crowd in for a showcase. This was also one of the last nights before he got locked up. Upon his return home he was immediately in the iHeartRadio building making connections that will hopefully come in handy in the future. He also has an unreleased track with Jeremiah who was on his list of people he wanted to work with.

While he is working with one of his dreams collabs, there are some people in the industry that might not be ideal. Kanye West and Jay-z previously worked with Fly’s dad Sunny Mac. Melly and Fly try to get to the truth which is an untold story. You can find some of the story by looking up Payroll 125 Never Change. They also agree to do a part two where we get to hear the story from the horse’s mouth.

Fly’s dad wasn’t the only one around some legends. His mom, Peppa, was also a close friend of R.Kelly. He offers some insight on their relationship and her reaction to ‘Surviving R.Kelly’. Fly has also played Kelly in basketball and won.Fly’s mom and grandma were in the streets which led to some legal trouble. His grandma was also involved with Larry Hoover which may have led to her losing an eye.

Fly has learned a lot form his father and is excited that his dad is his number one fan. It has made Fly more cautious of how he maneuvers and who he works with. He has also been making his own moves and had a chance to be backstage with Busta Rhymes. He’s met a few other famous artists in the area.

Part of his new career path includes dropping a six track EP this month. There might be a listening party in the works. Melly Starz is enlisted to help with this party so we shall see what the future holds. He is also in the fashion space with his brand FlyLoveFashion that he started with his partner. The merchandise is currently in two stores. He originally started his merch with the 616 brand which stands for the foundation and it came to him while he was incarcerated in his sleep.

As a 90s baby, Melly asks about Fly’s favorite wrestlers and brings out a vintage toy. How in the world does she find these fun facts and random props? The world will never know…

2024 has been a busy year for Fly Goddy as he has hit the ground running. He has various collabs in the works. He already has a mic performance up for ‘Move Around’ and he says it required him to jump out of his shell. He was also in the running for “America’s Top Hit Maker’ and he placed 3rd because his gangerz didn’t come through as hard as they should have.

Everyday Fly reads a book and restarts it every year. He also gets inspiration for his Goddy word of the day and #GoddyTalk which is another way he connects to his fans. Melly also offers advice about how to use your 24 hours and how she stays busy and on top of all her projects. His first show since being out was at Crowd Freakout while he was still on house arrest. He’s had other notable performances such as at Sub T, The Forge and Yours Game Room. The Back to School event was postponed so stay tuned for the new date.
