M!NT and Nas Leber team up on their introspective new single and visual “90 Degrees”
Heading over to Brooklyn we link up with M!NT and Nas Leber for their new single “90 Degrees”. The track is said to be a personal reflection with a 2020 retrospect. This year has definitely changed the way we do everything so it will be interesting to see how that plays out in the music. It is said that Nas Leber reflects on his childhood, his environment and his life struggles while also expressing gratitude for his experiences. He feels that everything has helped get him to this place of being ready to provide a better life for himself and his community. His vocals are combined with M!NT’s mellow piano and 808’s. So let’s check it out and see what we think of “90 Degrees”.
Thoughts on 90 Degrees
The video was shot in the suburban idyll of City Island in the Bronx, and takes the viewer through Leber’s childhood. The locations are all relevant to Leber and who he is today. The cinematography is meant to evoke a feeling of nostalgia and was directed by Sasha Nitze, who also oversees cinematography at M!NT’s music and film production studio, Arrowhead House.
Nas absolutely gives us a view into his life and is meant for storytelling. His delivery is perfect and matches the soft melody of the beat. The lyrical content shows us a glimpse into his upbringing and struggles. His gratitude also shines through his words. The video definitely brings the nostalgic vibes and is very well done. The shots and effects mesh well together and are not overly done.
