Digi: An Innovative Emcee

This week I got the chance to interview an innovative emcee called Digi from Full Pound Records and Uptown. Music has always been a part of his life. His father had a studio called the “Dub Lab.” So Digi would always go to the studio right after school. This is where he had the opportunity to meet several different artists. He felt as though he connected to the beat before he connected to the words and this is how he got into producing.  He always had a knack for music and could learn lyrics within a day. He also has the unique ability to write and keep his lyrics in his head.
When it comes to stage names Digi is a man of many hats. He has Digi, Mr Fire-fly Himself, and Icecoldpros. Like many other artist he draws inspiration from life and his family. He has a very big reggae influence due to his Jamaican background. Some artist that he draws inspiration from include: Busta Rhymes, Wu-Tang Clan, Method Man, Lords of the Underground, KRS ONE, and The Fugees among many others.
He has plenty of work under his belt with 21 GSC which he released several tapes with that each included 21 tracks. He also has some solo work like “Coldest Wynter Ever”, “Dr Jeckyll  Mr. Hyde.” He is currently working on “Cut from a Different Cloth” which features his big track “Green Light” on it. He is also going to be working on a mixtape with DJ Needles, which should be released later on this year.
In the future he would like to work with anyone who’s talented and passionate about their gift. Some specific artist he would like to work with would be Sly and Robbie, Timbaland, Wu-Tang Clan, Kirko Bangz, and J.Peguero. when it comes to his career path, he would love to be doing what he loves 24/7.

Sleep-Boi Gotit: An artist who exudes confidence

Sleep-Boi Gotit is an artist from the Miami area who is making major moves in his career and trying to establish himself in the music industry. He draws his inspiration from those around him. He also looks up to the greats such as Biggie and Tupac. In the future he would like to work with T.I and Juvenile. His stage name shows how much confidence he has in his craft because he’s got what you need when it comes to music. He is currently working on his mixtape titled “Perfect Timing.” He is also about to release his official first single “She all up on me.” In the future he sees himself very successful not only in the music industry but also as a business man with books, clothing lines, movies among other things.

Below you will find his official biography from his website:

“Born in the famous Dade County of Miami Florida, Sleep-Boi GOTIT is looking to establish himself as a true original. So many artists claim the MIA as their home, but they originate from other states, or even countries. It’s time to find out what a real Miami artist is all about. Being raised in the hood, there was always instances to remind Sleep-Boi GOTIT how bad his situation really was. Poverty, drugs, gangs, these were part of his daily life. No father around, brothers that were in and out of jail, he took it upon himself to be responsible and to take care of his mother and sister. He was just another underprivileged youth. That was until he started really listening to rap music, particularly artists such as The Notorius BIG, Tupac, Nas and others. These artists’ story telling ability and how they used their life experiences triggered something. Their delivery and swagger and of course their lifestyles made Sleep-Boi GOTIT consider music as an avenue to pursue. He wanted to tell his life story, and show how the next generation can accomplish their dreams through God, hard work and faith. With a must win attitude and a lot of sacrifice, Sleep-Boi GOTIT started to make a name for himself. He has established a true fan base, not easy with so much competition. He pays attention to artists like Jay-Z, T.I., Lil Wayne and others on what they are doing and looks to accomplish several goals. One of these is creating his own corporations to include music, fashion, television, food and more. When not on his grind, Sleep-Boi GOTIT is either on the basketball court, taking in the latest movie, or at his favorite Caribbean or soul food restaurant. Because of how he was raised, he is also a true family man, spending time with loved ones as often as possible. It’s 2013, and new breeds of hip hop artists are emerging. You’ll hear the name Sleep-Boi GOTIT for years to come!!”

Full Pound Records CEO: Raziel Chamel

This week I was blessed and honored to interview the CEO of Full Pound Records: Raziel Chamel. The interview was definitely an amazing experience. He is considered to be a local celebrity but I would say he is a little more than that. He has a very heavy following outside of Florida in places like New York, Atlanta and Boston among others. Even though he is well known, he is still one of the most humble people I have ever met.
So where did this all start, like many others he always had a passion for music and in high school he started to take his music seriously. He then graduated from Full Sail Universitywhere in his last year there started Full Pound Records. When he started Full Pound he still hadn’t decided exactly what he wanted to do, he just knew he wanted to be a part of something great. While in Orlando, attending Full Sail, he did an internship and later got a job at 99 Jamz.
His main inspiration and motivation is his family. He makes music based on how he’s feeling at the moment. When it comes to artist, he really looks up to Bob Marley and Michael Jackson. In the future he would love to work with 50 Cent because aside from being a fan of his music he has respect for everything that 50 Cent has accomplished.
He is known as Raziel Chamel. He also has a couple other stage names such as Chamelaflow and Mr. Fantastic. Raziel is his given name, which is unique in itself. Chamelaflow was given to him because of his unique ability to adapt to any beat and make all types of music. Mr. Fantastic is a whole other side of him and a friend gave this name to him a long time ago.
When it comes to current work there is so much that all I can say is check out some of his sites. However, the main focus right now is the “Swirlin” record that is currently being played on 99 Jamz and the video has been featured on MTV jams. This past weekend he just released the remix that features none other than Fat Joe and Ace Hood.
In the future all I see are great things for Raziel as well as for Full Pound Records. They are more than on the way and are a making major moves in the industry right now. Ten years from now Raziel would like to be settled down with his family and helping young artists trying to get into the industry.
